Dance & theater groups
Our dance groups consist of almost 50 boys and girls where they learn our Pontian dances, puts up theatrical plays and read about our history and traditions. The dance groups are the biggest single part of our association and that is the reason that we have 63 traditional custom made dresses, something that we very proud of because not even the Pontian associations in Greece have this many. The dance instructors are Dina Fraggidou and Olga Isaakidou and they have been that since 1991!

The dance groups participate in all cultural events that they are invited to in Sweden and northen Europe. They have appeared in the Swedish Parlament, in Panagia Soumela (Greece), in the European Pontian dance festival (Germany), the Syrian cultural festival and of course in the Rinkeby festival. The theater group is on the building phase due to a big interest from our members. We ask all who are interested to help to come in contact with us.

Language group
The idea with the language group is the same as for many Pontian association throughout the world, to keep our unique, ancient dialect alive and that it is not lost for the future Pontian generations. Apart from the language studies, the Pontian history is also teached.

The language group was started in 2004 with Polis Kaliaridis as teacher but is for the moment inactive due to the fact that we don't have the proper premises. Our ambition is to relocate to our local schools so that the teacher will have all the right and modern utilities so that the teaching will be as accurate as possible. All people who are interested to participate are more than welcome, irrespective age. It doesn't cost anything to be part of the language group because our association backs up all the economic aspects that may appear. The only demands we have are that the participants have knowlodge of the Greek language and that they are members of our association.

Lectures & cooperation
Evxinos Pontos Stockholm is trying to work together with all associations and organisations who have the same values with us. These cooperations can be about exhibitions, lectures, travels and more... all this just to make sure that the Pontian values and traditions always are in the centre. As tradition, we have the lectures (and other activities) we have on May 19th every year in the memory of the Pontian genocide.
